Dining and Restaurants in Blue Ridge
Anyone who is deciding on a location to visit for
vacation knows that one of the most important features
of a possible destination is the available eateries.
No one wants to visit a place where they won’t
be able to eat like a king and experience food styles
they have never seen before. Food and drink has
always played an important role in travel and enjoyment.
The Blue Ridge Mountain area offers great opportunities
for visitors to experience great taste sensations.
Based on their history, you should expect to eat
some classic Appalachian mountain style of food
in the Blue Ridge area. Local mountain trout is
clearly the specialty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Whether you prefer your fish fried, boiled, crusted
with pecans, or smoked, there are many different
ways to get the best seafood in town made. And like
any place down South, there are great ways to get
great Georgia apples and use them in different palates.
Bread made with apples, butter made with apples,
almost anything can be made from apples. And if
you are a fan of the classic American dessert of
apple pie, you won’t get a better dish than
down South in the Blue Ridge. Apple cider is also
available to help combat the sun’s heat in
the summer.
| Are you the type of person who
normally skips breakfast meals? You may have
a hard time doing so down in Georgia. Grits,
ham, hot biscuits, and more will make your
mouth water. And for lunch the classic chicken,
mashed potatoes, and watermelon will get you
into the Blue Ridge mood. |

If you are looking for specific restaurants to dine
at, there are many to keep in mind. Most of these
can be found within the town, with food ranging
from Chinese to Mexican. There is even big fast
food chains for kids who just will not try anything
else. Some of the places to keep in mind to visit
include Lindsay’s Malt Shop. This 50s style
shop has great malts and milkshakes and will give
your taste buds sensations you didn’t think
were possible. There is also a Victorian tea room
for those who are fans of that sort of dining.
Aside from the big restaurants and home style dining,
the Blue Ridge is also a terrific place to picnic.
Just buy some fresh fruits and vegetables and get
some bread and get the family together. Blue Ridge,
with it’s terrific scenery, is a perfect place
to sit down outdoors and enjoy good homemade food.
